eCRM for retailer
For one of the major Danish banks, Presys is developing a
sales system for retailing based on intranet and extranet. Later, parts of
the system are to run via the Internet. The system is designed for the
entire sales process from choice of model and equipment, order processing,
pricing, financing, and credit rating to the preparation of the final
contract. The system includes document handling, case work and case
management. The documents are forwarded to the Danish Central Customs and
Tax Administration. Models, equipment etc. are to be entered into the
system as a stock control system by the importers to prevent salesmen from
selling non-compatible spare parts. Furthermore, the stock control system
manages times of delivery. The system is based on WebSphere, which is to
be integrated with Domino and DB2. Presys handles project
management including time estimates, architecture, analysis, design,
programming and testing.
Further development of the telephone network product
Presys has participated in the further development of the telephone
network product of an international producer of wireless equipment.
Presys has primarily taken part in the development of the managing
part of the product. The managing part, running on HP-Unix, is based on
WebLogic servers, CORBA for old back-end systems, and Oracle database.
Development of games and infotainment for mobile phones
Presys participates in the development of games and infotainment
for mobile phones (SMS and WAP) and teletext for a quick-growing
medium-sized company. The development takes place in Java on a CORBA-based
framework, and data are saved in an Oracle 8i database. Each game runs as
a servlet on a Sun Solaris server. It is possible for each operator to
monitor its services via a JSP-based interface.
Optimization/faultfinding of major WebLogic installation
Presys has performed stress test and optimization of the Java
software as well as of the WebLogic installation for the European website
of a large international multi-medium company. The installation
included several web servers and WebLogic servers with a replicated Oracle
database as data layer. The website is expected to have app. 50,000 daily
visitors from all over Europe.
Credit Score System
Presys has designed and developed a credit score system for the
accounts department of a national company. The system is capable of
handling app. 200,000 credit customers and is 100% browser based. This
system facilitates a homogeneous credit estimate of customers all over the
country. The system has interface to data from Dun & Bradstreet as
well as access to online credit reference with RKI (a Danish credit rating
agency). Furthermore, credit establishment is designed to facilitate
acquisitive use of the system for the sales representatives of the firm.
In this way a new customer credit can be established in no time. The
system has several reference functions that ease the creditors’ access
to information on a certain customer’s credit-worthiness. And all this
just by means of a browser connected to the intranet of the firm. The
system is created in Enterprise JavaBeans, Servlets and JSP- pages against
web server with data access via Bea Tuxedo Server.
Components for communication with Tuxedo server
For a major danish company, Presys has developed components
for communication with a Tuxedo server. These components make it possible
to call Tuxedo Services as though they were part of a true object-oriented
system – despite Tuxedo’s function-oriented way of working. The
components are supporting Tuxedo 6.3 services, but they are easily adapted
to older versions of Tuxedo – as well as to future versions. The
development and the components are written in Java, using UML as
documentation.
e-Transportation system
For a large Danish company, Presys has participated in the
development of a transportation system, which makes it possible for small
and medium-sized firms to send parcels through the ordering of labels on
the Internet. It is possible for customers to monitor the current status
of the parcels via mobile phones. The system is based on WebLogic, which
is to be integrated with Oracle.
e-Personalizing
In a working relationship between two large Danish companies, Presys
has participated in a project providing us consumers with the possibility
of entering a service that controls which direct mail to be delivered in
our mail box. Thus it is possible for us to decide which ads we would like
to receive - just by ticking the subjects of interest. The system is based
on WebLogic, integrated with Oracle.

various components such as chat rooms and e-mailing. Presys
assisted the suppliers with the programming. The system is based on
Inprise Application Server and Oracle.
Order and staff management via the Internet
Presys has increased the productivity of the sales department
drastically by the development of a new integrated order, staff, system,
and time planning system called OMSI. OMSI is a multi-tier application.
Some of the user interface is Notes/Domino. Notes/Domino clients work as
thin front-end clients, who, through CORBA, communicate with the business
application itself, which is running on an NT server and uses Oracle8 as
database. The business application is developed in Java and Delphi.
Sales management system for retailer
For a large international Danish company, Presys has
developed a centralized sales management system. Through this system,
everything concerning sales is registered: sales work, time table /
calendar, activities, subsidies, orders, replacements, time consumption,
distribution, display of goods, budgets, reports etc. This provides the
managers with access to information necessary for strategic planning. For
the salesmen Presys had developed a decentralized version of the
system, which on a daily basis is updated with the central system. Today
the system is used by consultants within the hotel and catering industry
and in the retail trade, and other industries are expected to join in.
Size: Presys was in charge of the development, which took
three man-years.

assisted in the development of a sales system for the car industry. The
system can be used by car retailers for the entire sales process, from
choice of model, original equipment, pricing, financing and credit rating
to the writing of the final contract. It is possible for the importers to
tick models, equipment etc. for the system. A minor part of the financing
system is converted into I-commerce. The system can generate documents,
which can be exported to Word. Presys is only responsible for the
Internet part.

Checkout terminal system
For a large Danish/international manufacturing company, Presys
has perfected a checkout terminal system, which was used in all the
outlets of the company in Denmark as well as abroad. By means of a
database engine, Presys re-organized the database without change of
program software.
Planning system for the car industry
For a medium-sized Danish firm of haulage contractors Presys
has completed a planning system for bus traffic. Presys took over
the system from another consultancy. The system manages everything
concerning the planning of bus traffic from receipt of order, distribution
of carriages via fax, driving schemes, resource planning/management of
carriages and drivers, price management and invoicing. Presys
changed the system from Paradox to Oracle due to the large amount of data.
Then Presys optimized the Oracle database so that the system now
runs faster than it did with the Paradox databases, despite considerably
larger amounts of data.

Four developers were assigned the task and they are in charge of all
maintenance.
Video monitoring system
For a medium-sized Danish firm, Presys has developed the
software of a video monitoring system, which is used by a Spanish and
Belgian bank. The system is installed to monitoring cameras in places such
as banks. The shots from these cameras are saved in a local PC, from which
the shots can be transferred to a central and saved in a database for
later processing. This, of course, is useful in connection with bank
robberies. The system will be developed in such a way that it is possible
to configure it in the bank by means of a lab-top PC.
